CLASS COMMENTARY

Please write a note (complete with "Dear Dr. Halbert" and "Sincerely") that answers the following questions:

  • The class started by asking you to think about American values and what it means to be American. Having taken the course, can you write out a paragraph that details what you think core values are, positive or negative, of America?
  • What three readings were the most effective to you? What was it about each that you thought was compelling?
  • What reading was the weakest? Why?
  • If there were one aspect of the course you could change, what would it be? If there was one aspect that you absolutely would not change, what would it be?
