RESEARCH PAPER CHECKLIST

WARNING: there's a new part to the checklist at the end. PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

PART I: Please read and sign the following:

On my honor, I have not taken the words or ideas of any person, on-line resource, printed text, or other source without properly labeling those words or ideas and giving the proper citation. This paper is a non-recycled, new paper written specifically for Dr. Halbert's Fall 2019 English 101 course. I have never handed this paper in for credit before

Name: ________________________________ Date: __________________

Signature: ______________________________

DUE DATE: Thursday, December 5, 2019, by 8:00 AM.

PART II: Make sure your paper uses the INSERT-->BREAK-->Page Break to set up your works cited page. Any paper without a works cited page in the document. Also remember you will get an additional 21-point grade for following the MS Word Commands requirements.

PART III: Submit your final draft to the "DB: Research Paper Final (Graded)" dropbox.

No need to copy and paste this time: simply upload the file. Please name the file using the following model: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_ENG101_p3.doc (example: Halbert_Hal_101_p3.doc). This upload is expected by the start of class. You are required to allow the paper to be submitted to SafeAssign, so check the box online.

I understand I must submit an electronic copy of the paper using the file name convention listed above by the appointed time and date. This file must match the paper copy exactly as it will be the copy that is actually graded.

PART IV: Post a copy to the discussion board in the "RESEARCH PAPER : Final Draft" forum

PART V: Submit a revised copy to the "DB: Assessment Copy of Research Paper" dropbox. Follow the instructions below.

The College requires that faculty participate in assessment of courses, and English 101 is assessed based on its research papers.  I need to submit each of your papers without any identifying information, so I need each of you to do the following:

1.  Create a second file for your paper (click on SAVE AS and add "Assess" to the end of the file name prior to the .docx suffix).

2.  Change the last name before the page number to "Doe."

3.  Change your name in the information block to "J. Doe."

4.  Change "Dr. Halbert" to "Professor Smith."

5. Save it again to preserve the changes.

6. Upload it to the "Assessment Copy: Research Paper" dropbox for ten points.  That's 10 points for 1 minute of work.

Remember: the last chance to rewrite paper #1 is Tuesday, December 10th by noon. Email the paper as an MS Word attachemnt and put "ENG 101 Rewrite" in the subject line.
