TWO-MINUTE PRESENTATIONThis assignment should be considered a form of prewriting: you will need to identify a text (or series of texts) you plan to write about and offer a basic argument/interpretation/thesis about the texts you intend to prove in your paper. Outline why you are interested in this topic and what you think the biggest pieces of evidence are that support your claim about the interpretation. No visual aids are allowed, but if you want to have notes of some kind while you speak, feel free. This presentation is worth 10 points, and the grade is based not on superficial issues (no need to dress up), but rather on a clear degree of preparation, a clear topic, a clear thesis, and a basic ability to convey that information to the class. It's meant to be low-key: you are trying out your initial idea in front of a live audience that will ask questions to help you refine your claim. |
