RESEARCH PAPER PREWRITING

For your second paper, you will need to write a somewhat longer literary analysis in which you offer a specific interpretation of a novel, short story, or film from the syllabus using library research to support your claim. Towards that goal, please do the following and post it on the discussion board in the "Research Paper: Prewriting" forum:

  • Identify the text or texts you'll be using in the paper.
  • Freewrite a long paragraph that describes what you think your interpretation will be.
  • List all the evidence you can remember from the text to support that interpretation.
  • List potential topics to look up in your research that are related to your topic but may not directly speak to the text. Such topics might include a theoretical position, sociological or psychological issues, tech issues, and more.
  • Please give a clear indication in your subject line of the text and the claim you are making.
  • You should have a page and a half of text minimum.
  • You do not have to polish this writing, but make sure it's comprehensible.
