RESEARCH PAPER PEER REVIEW
Please read and mark your partner's paper, indicating the following as you mark:
- Clarity of paper's overall thesis/claim.
- Effectiveness of quotations as evidence from primary sources (quote mechanics, quality of quotes selected, clear link between quotes and the central claim of the paragraph)
- Use of secondary sources found in research to support author's claims
- Typos, weak transitions, unclear sections, and grammar
Then write a note that does the following:
- Restate what you think the paper is trying to persuade the reader to believe about the primary text(s). If you are unsure, say so and suggest a thesis based on what the author has written.
- Warn the writer if he or she is simply giving a bunch of facts from research rather than making an argument from those facts.
- Indicate the best sections of the paper and why they work.
- Indicate areas that need improvement and what he or she might do to address them.
