TWO-MINUTE PRESENTATIONS

In order to help you conceptualize your thesis for your papers, you will need to present your topic and working thesis to the class. Here's what you need to do for this presentation:

  • Identify yourself by name.
  • Indicate what text or texts you will be working with, who wrote them, and why you picked them.
  • Give the general topic of your paper and why you are interested in that topic.
  • Offer up a specific point you want to prove about the topic and what evidence you think you have to support that claim. This interpretation is your working thesis.

The class will get a chance to comment on your presentation, ask questions, and make suggestions. The presentation is not formal, but you should prepare. No PowerPoints will be allowed. There's no need to dress up for this presentation.
