FIRST DAY IN-CLASS WRITING

Please write the following by hand on a piece of paper.

Write a paragraph in which you introduce yourself: your name, your background, or other information you would like me to know about yourself.

Then write a second paragraph in which you explain why you are here in college. Consider the following points:

What personal interest, goals, or beliefs brought you to college?
How have people judged your ability to succeed academically or professionally? How has that impacted you?
What outside pressures either pushed you towards or away from college?
What challenges do you think will impact your ability to do well in college?

Make sure your responses is legible and has your name name on it at the top.
